FIRE
STEELS -"STRIKERS"
The
most important tool for making fire with flint and steel is practice.
Then, other than using straight steel, you should be looking for a striker
that fits you comfortably. We have given (inside openings) dimensions for
these strikers so that you may select the best size for your finger grip.
A striker should sit in snug. The fire steels listed below are hand-forged
and are made exactly as they were 200 years ago with hammer, anvil and forge--powered
by muscle! The steels are formed free on the anvil horn. No two will be
exactly alike. |
